The Guilford County Health and Human Services Advisory Committee (HHSAC) serves as an advisory body for the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services. Committee members are appointed by the Guilford County Board of Commissioners. The committee works closely with the Health and Human Services staff to protect and promote public health and social services needs in the community. The committee meets quarterly, and provides advice and input to the Health and Human Services director, or their designee, and feedback to the Board of Commissioners.

 The Guilford County Health and Human Services Advisory Committee (HHSAC) is now accepting applications for licensed professionals including:

  • Engineers
  • Optometrists
  • Veterinarians 

The Committee also seeks residents who work in education, social work, behavioral health, or other human services. As an advisory committee of 14 individuals, appointed by the Board of Commissioners, the HHSAC plays a crucial role in guiding policies and programs that address critical issues in social services, public health, and overall community well-being. 

Health and Human Services Advisory Committee Eligibility and Membership

The Health and Human Services Advisory Committee is open to all legal residents of Guilford County who are passionate about health and human services in our community. Members serve without compensation and are appointed by the Board of Commissioners.

Meeting Frequency

The committee meets at least quarterly, with dates set for the entire calendar year each January. Members are expected to attend at least 75% of the scheduled meetings.
