The Soil and Water Conservation Section supports the Guilford County Soil and Water Conservation District, and agency that deal with soil erosion and water quality problems. The district provides technical assistance to landowners and educational programs on soil and water quality. The district also administers a State program that provides cost share funds to farmers and landowners with water quality problems to install Best Management Practices on their farms.

RCW will be held at NCSU from June 15-20, 2025.

Agricultural Water Resources Assistance Program (AgWrap)
A voluntary program designed to help identify opportunities to increase water use efficiency, availability and storage. Its purpose is to encourage the use of Best Management Practices (BMP’s) to conserve and protect water resources. This program provides cost share and incentive payments for conservation measures that improve water use efficiency while increasing water storage and availability for agriculture purposes.

North Carolina Agriculture Cost Share Program (NCACSP)
A voluntary program designed to encourage the use of Best Management Practices (BMP’s) for agricultural production. This program provides cost share and incentive payments for conservation measures that improve water quality.

Community Conservation Assistance Program (CCAP)
A voluntary, incentive-based program designed to improve water quality through the installation of various BMP’s on urban, suburban and rural lands, not directly involved in agricultural production. This program provides cost share and technical assistance for the installation of stormwater best management practices on non-agricultural land.

Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
To provide a voluntary conservation program for farmers and ranchers that promotes agricultural production and environmental quality as reauthorized in the Agricultural Act of 2014 (Farm Bill). For more information call the Greensboro Service Center NRCS Office at 336-375-5401 x 3

Voluntary Agricultural District Program
Landowners voluntarily commit to enhance the identity of their agriculture community by encouraging the voluntary preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development. This is a voluntary, free program for farm owners of 20 acres of forestland, 10 contiguous acres of farmland and 5 acres of horticultural land.

Beaver Management Assistance Program (BMAP)
Guilford County private and public landowners have the option to participate in the Beaver Management Assistance Program. If beavers are causing a problem on your property this program offers technical assistance at a reduced cost-share rate. Landholders can expect to pay $25 per visit and $125 per dam removed with initial site assessments to be provided at no cost. For more information give us a call at (336) 641-2440.

District No-Till Drill

• The Guilford Soil and Water Conservation District invites you to participate in the effort to conserve our natural resources and aid in the prevention of soil loss in our county by renting our no-till drill.
• Schedule use of the District’s no-till drill as far in advance as is possible.
• Pay $100.00 deposit in the form of cash or check at the time of drill rental (this deposit may be used as the Cleaning Fee or to cover the cost of rental fees associated with planned acres to be planted or used. All remaining rental fees, and late fees, if applicable, are due upon return of the drill. 
• The 5.5 foot drill is best used for pasture reseeding and can be rented for $15/acre with a minimum rental rate of $50.
