The information provided is for people experiencing homelessness during the winter months. Please be sure to note any listed requirements or restrictions for each program/location.
GREENSBORO
-The City of Greensboro will activate White Flag warming centers in response to the anticipated overnight low temperatures.
- Greensboro Urban Ministry, 305 W. Gate City Blvd., will provide winter shelter this evening for men and women from 8 pm to 8 am, on Saturday, January 11th. The shelter will open the same hours on Saturday and Sunday nights into Monday January 13th.
- Glenwood Church, 1417 Glenwood Ave (Entrance off Grove St)., will provide shelter for adults with children this evening, from 8 pm to 6:30 am, on Saturday, January 11th. The center will provider shelter at the same times on Saturday and Sunday nights into Monday, January 13th.
Glenwood Church will be staffed by the Office of Community Safety team, which is trained to work with special populations and coordinate services for families, upon request.

The City of Greensboro and the Interactive Resource Center (IRC) will be operating the Doorway Project: Entry into the Doorway Project also requires a referral. If necessary, a waitlist will also be created for this program. Please see the referral packet below.
Greensboro Urban Ministries, Grace Community Church, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church and West Market United Methodist Church will provide additional overnight shelter beds (12-15 beds) every night through March 2025. Contact Greensboro Urban Ministry at 336-271-5959 for more details
HIGH POINT
Warming Center:
- Oak Street Health has an active warming station on Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The address is 2850 S Main Street Suite 104 High Point, NC 27403.
- The Salvation Army of High Point: Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, but closed from 12:00pm to 1:00pm for lunch. The address is 301 West Green Drive, High Point 27260
Winter Shelters:
- Open Door Ministries has expanded its cold weather shelter program, every night from 8:00pm to 8:00am through March. (Dinner and breakfast provided) *Men Only* The address is 400 Centennial Street and the phone number is 336-885-0191
- The Salvation Army of High Point: Families seeking shelter should call the Center of Hope at 336-881-5420 before 3:00PM. Hours are from 7:00pm to 9:00am and the address is 301 W. Green Drive.
- West End Ministries operates Winter Shelter beginning December 1, 2024 for Women Only. Hours are from 5:30pm to 7:00am and the address is 903 W English Road High Point, NC. Please call 336-884-1039 for additional information.
