The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the service of all Civil Processes within Guilford County. These processes include Magistrate Summons, Civil Summons, Domestic Violence Orders, Claim and Deliveries, Writs for Possession (real and personal property), Civil Orders for Arrest, Juvenile Summons, Tax Warrants, Attachments, Writs of Executions (enforcement of money judgments), Child Custody Orders, No Contact Orders(50C), Notice of Rights, Criminal Summons and Warrants.

To be Served with a Civil Process:

Contact the Legal Process Division, (336) 641-3735, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Service Fees:

• $30 for in-state papers per person
• $50 for out-of-state papers, US Courts, Federal Court per person served (We also require (1) original or true certified copy and (1) copy for each person to be served)

There are levy fees associated with the seizing and selling of Real Property, Vehicles and Personal Property. Please contact our office at (336) 641-3735 and ask for an Execution Officer to ascertain the associated fees.

•  Cash, Money Order, Cashier's Check (NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED).
