July is Park and Recreation Month across the U.S. and we’re inviting everyone to try something new by experiencing a new park, a new activity, or a new amenity. From guided hikes to golf, we want to make it easy for you to try something new at our parks this July.
All month, we’re hosting a variety of activities for residents of all ages and abilities. All events are free to the public except for the July 3 Fireworks Extravaganza.
Event schedule:
- July 3- Fireworks Extravaganza at Northeast Park, 4 p.m.
Cost of admission is $10 per carload, $1 per walk-up.
- July 5 & 8 – Driving Range at Bur-Mil Park, 2 to 5 p.m.
Mention ‘Try It Days’ at check-in for a free small basket of golf balls and free golf club (limited quantities).
- July 16 – Guided Hike with County Staff at the Guilford County Farm, 9 a.m.
Registration is encouraged.
- July 24 – Camping Expo at Hagan-Stone Park, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Drop in to learn camping basics with presentations by REI and park staff.
- July 31 – Intro to Kayaking at Southwest Park, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Registration opens July 15.
