The Guilford County Division of Public Health (GCDPH) will host the first series of mobile health unit events beginning this Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
A soft launch was held for the mobile health unit on Friday, July 9 at the Greensboro Public Health Building on 1203 Maple Street in Greensboro. COVID vaccines were administered to Guilford County staff and clients.
The mobile health unit will provide free COVID-19 vaccinations to community members aged 12 and older:
- Wednesday, July 14, 8:00 AM- 11:00 AM
- Greensboro Farmer’s Market (501 Yanceyville Street, Greensboro, NC 27401)
- Friday, July 16, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Colt's Apartments (3909 Winter Garden Lane, Greensboro, NC 27407)
No pre-registration is required for a vaccine appointment at the mobile health unit. Vaccinations will be given on a first-come-first-served basis while supplies last.
Community members may select which vaccine is most convenient for them. The mobile unit will offer:
- Moderna Vaccine (Approved for ages 18 and older, two dose vaccine)
- Pfizer Vaccine (Approved for ages 12 and older, two dose vaccine)
- Johnson & Johnson (Approved for ages 18 and older, single dose vaccine)
Vaccinations at the mobile unit will follow the same process as those administered in stationary clinics. Those interested in receiving a vaccine should prepare for the following:
- Sign-In (no ID required)
- Vaccine Administration
- 15-30-minute observation period (this will take place outdoors under the mobile unit awning)
- Scheduling of second dose appointment for individuals receiving the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines
The GCDPH continues to plan additional community COVID-19 vaccination events as part of the ongoing initiative to make quality healthcare programs and COVID vaccines more accessible in Guilford County.
