Free Walk-in Blood Pressure (BP) Checks Available! (Health Information)

Post Date:08/10/2018 11:28 AM
High blood pressure has been called the “Silent Killer”.   Many people with high blood pressure have no symptoms at all, and regular blood pressure monitoring is essential to help you know your readings.  To help local residents know and monitor their own blood pressure, Guilford County Health Department is offering free blood pressure checks every Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Public Health locations at 1100 E. Wendover Avenue in Greensboro and 501 East Green Drive in High Point.

BP readings will be recorded on a wallet size card for people to take with them as personal reminders, and to share with their health care provider.  If readings are found to be high, this card also contains names of medical practices where residents may seek further assessment and treatment.

People wanting to have their BP checked at either the Wendover Avenue or the Green Drive location will only have to come to the reception areas and they will be quickly directed to where blood pressures will be taken; no appointments are necessary.

Health Department staff reminds all residents to keep your heart healthy through diet, exercise and stress management; and to monitor your blood pressure often.

For more information, call the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Division at 336-641-7777 or visit www.guilfordcountync.gov.
