Guilford County Public Health Offers Free Walk-in Blood Pressure (BP) Checks! (Health Information)

Post Date:08/26/2019 1:06 PM

High blood pressure has been called the “Silent Killer”.   High blood pressure can cause heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure but many people with high blood pressure have no symptoms.  Regular blood pressure monitoring is essential to help you know that your blood pressure readings are within a normal range.  Guilford County Health Department offers free blood pressure checks every Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Public Health locations at 1100 E. Wendover Avenue in Greensboro and 501 East Green Drive in High Point.  No appointment is needed.

For convenience, and as a personal reminder to see a medical provider, blood pressure readings are recorded and given to you on a wallet sized card.

Health Department staff reminds you to keep your heart healthy through diet, exercise, stress management and blood pressure control.

For more information, call the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Division at 336-641-7777 or visit www.guilfordcountync.gov.
