Several employees based in county owned downtown Greensboro buildings have graciously offered to serve on a newly formed a safety committee that is sponsored by the Risk Management Department. The employees on the committee represent various county departments and bring a wealth and variety of perspectives.
The committee members are: Laura Abernathy (HR), Frank Giubileo (Security), Jeff Gordon (Internal Audit), Elaine Inman (Register of Deeds), Joe Johnson (Public Health), Brenda Keplinger (HR), Spencer Lewis (Risk Management), Dean MacLean (Facilities), Donna Riner (Legal), and Elliott Thompson (Tax).
The purpose of a safety committee is to bring workers and management together in a non-adversarial, cooperative effort to promote safety and health in each workplace. This safety committee assists the county and makes recommendations for change.

We look forward to implementing this model to all county locations or departments in the future. Employees interested in serving on a safety committee should express their interest to their manager.
